What’s going on this weekend?
Irrelevant Music Fest continues tonight and Saturday. Be sure to give Emily Kinzer’s Crib Notes article on the festival a read. Both shows are 18+, too. Swans returns to Atlanta tonight in support of their latest record, The Glowing Man. It is reportedly the last Swans album to feature its current lineup. Unfortunately, the RJD2 show at Terminal West is sold out, but there are lots of other options on Saturday. The Masquerade hosts a benefit show for local musician and photographer Kevin Scheidt, who passed earlier this year, with a bunch of Scheidt’s favorite local acts. All proceeds go to his family. Mammal also hosts a benefit show to raise proceeds for Serson Brannen of In Sonitus Lux and the Subliminator, who is struggling with massive bills after an unfortunate accident earlier this year. 10 of Atlanta’s best avant-garde acts will play.
