Fitness instructor Eve Overland doesn’t need access to a gym to get in a workout — she just needs a tour bus. Since 2010, the Minnesota native and current ATL dweller has worked as the touring personal trainer for country superstar Carrie Underwood. They’re currently in the middle of Underwood’s 2016 Storyteller Tour.

Being in the entertainment world isn’t foreign to Overland. “From the moment I could talk, I was involved in theater,” she says. “By the time I was in high school, I had already performed in over 50 community theater productions, local and regional commercials, as well as an award-winning documentary.” After graduating from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in theater arts and a minor in modern dance, she began working as a theater actress and eventually landed a handful of stints on reality TV as a cast member on WB dating show elimiDATE and even Temptation Island on FOX. From there, Overland transitioned to working behind the scenes as a reality show casting director for MTV, VH1, A&E, and others.

It was while she was living in Los Angeles in the mid-2000s that Overland began transitioning her career from film to full-time fitness. She became certified in the Israeli martial art and self-defense system Krav Maga, and taught classes that incorporated kickboxing, Thai pads, kettlebells, and strength conditioning. After moving to Nashville post-L.A., she was beckoned further south a year and a half ago for a gig as the on-set personal trainer to the lead actor on the Atlanta-filmed NBC television series Constantine, and as a stuntwoman on various sets — yes, she’s purposefully set herself on fire before. “In Atlanta, there is more opportunity to merge my passion and expertise in fitness with movies and television,” she says. When she’s not touring, Overland also teaches classes locally at BLAST and CorePower Yoga.

Up next for this fit-wit: she’s currently working on a project with three other fitness professionals from L.A. and Nashville called Fit-Cation. “It will be a destination experience that will provide in-house personal trainers and nutrition experts and still have all of the luxuries of going on vacation,” Overland says. Until then, you can find her in Underwood’s mobile gym, helping the celeb break a serious sweat.
