The New York Times’ editorial board yesterday unveiled the first of its six-part series advocating why the federal government should allow states to decide how to regulate marijuana, if at all. Bonus points for the clever U.S. flag animation, NYT!

Congrats, thousands of federal employees! The Sam Nunn Federal Center has reopened! The massive government complex in Downtown was closed throughout last week because of electrical issues.

Former Atlanta Braves pitchers Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine and former manager Bobby Cox were among several notables inducted last night into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Maddux told stories. And John Rocker dropped by to say hello to the fans.

Atlanta Police have not announced any suspects or a motive in the weekend shooting death of a man on University Avenue near the Pittsburgh neighborhood.

Several months ago, veteran Atlanta columnist Maria Saporta received a voicemail from a man who claimed to have been at the Bergen Belsen concentration camp with her mother. Somehow that message was lost or deleted. Saporta is now searching for members of the man’s family so she can talk with him.
