A Walk Though Peachtree-Pine is Brad Carrington’s photo exhibition at Our Gallery and Studio that explores the spaces and celebrates the people that tell the story behind the Downtown shelter. Carrington also got a little help from a photography class comprised of Savannah College of Art and Design students. In all, per Carrington, A Walk Through Peachtree-Pine showcases the “artistic side of the 95,000 square feet of the Pine, but more importantly to showcase the beautiful faces that have passed through its doors since its inception.” Runs through March, 2015. For our “2014 Holiday Movie Preview” CL film critic Curt Holman joked about the possible backlash of the studio going through with releasing the political satire: “North Korea’s state-run agency has requested the U.S. government halt the film’s release, suggesting that The Interview has greater real-world ramifications than most Oscar nominees.” Little did Mr. Holman and the rest of the world know that N. Korea and Kim Jong-un weren’t f*****g around. Well, color the Plaza Theatre not fazed by Kim Jong’s tyranny or the back and forth between President Barack Obama and North Korea’s leader. On Dec. 25, 26, and Jan. 1, the Plaza will screen The Interview, making it one of couple hundred nationwide that’ve committed to letting the Seth Rogen and James Franco show go on. Think of it as your favorite comic book on ice without the ice. As the name would suggest, Marvel Universe Live is a chance to see more than 25 of your favorite comic book heroes and villains duke it out on stage. The production features pyrotechnics, martial arts, and aerial stunts, a combination that has the show’s producers dubbing it as the “most technically advanced live show ever.” MLU hit Philips Arena earlier this month, and now has a slate of shows at the Arena at Gwinnett Center from Fri., Dec. 26, to Sun., Dec. 28. $20-$75. Grab tickets here.
